Welcome to the April edition of our Product Spotlight. In April alone, we delivered 31 new features, bringing the total number of A365 enhancements to 171 for 2025. Each update is designed with one goal in mind: helping you work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence.
This month, we’re excited to share the latest improvements across sales, rental, service, device management, and more, built to boost visibility, reduce manual work, and empower every role across your operations.
Product update: A365 Sales
Visibility into Days in Stock
To help sales teams make quicker, better-informed decisions, a new enhancement provides instant visibility into how long a device has been in stock. This supports more accurate forecasting and improves sales efficiency.
Functionality:
- Days in stock calculation:
A new column has been added to the inventory view in Sales Assistant, showing the number of days each device has been in stock. - Calculation logic:
The number of days is calculated as:
Today purchase delivery date, applicable only to devices with a Trade Status of “In Stock”.
Easier view into factory options for deal devices
To make it easier for sales teams to confirm what’s included with a deal device, we’ve added a quick view for configuration codes. This now displays all related factory options in a single sub-grid, removing the need to jump between screens. A change that adds a lot of clarity.
Functionality:
- Configuration code quick view:
A quick view form has been added to the Configuration Code field. - Configuration options sub-grid:
Displays only the factory options relevant to the selected configuration code.
Product update: A365 Rental
Fuel charge automation for rental orders
Rental teams can now automate fuel charge calculations based on fuel tank status at both delivery and return.
Here’s how it works:
-
Set a fuel tank capacity for each rental item
-
Use predefined percentages for tank statuses
-
The system calculates the charge based on the difference between delivery and return levels
If the fuel level remains unchanged, the charge is automatically cancelled. If there’s a difference, the system generates a charge and moves it to an invoicing status. This helps ensure fair billing while saving teams time on manual calculations.
Easily apply changes to multiple Rental Orders at once
Say goodbye to repetitive edits. Our new feature lets you apply alterations, adjust charges, or mark non-billable days across multiple rental orders in one go. With the new Alteration journal, you can make billing adjustments faster, more accurately, and with a lot less hassle.
Product update: A365 Parts
Faster transactions from external catalogs
When adding items from external supplier catalogs, A365 can now automatically create a released product if one doesn’t already exist. That means fewer interruptions when creating sales or purchase orders.
This enhancement also supports releasing these items to other legal entities, streamlining intercompany transactions.
Improved warranty claims for catalog-based items
Warranty claims now pull default values from either the supplier item or the released product settings, depending on the origin. This ensures consistency, even when items are sourced from external catalogs instead of supplier records.
Templates now simplify product releases to legal entities
When releasing products to new legal entities, users can now apply templates and catalog settings to automatically populate fields. This saves time and reduces errors in setup.
Keep catalog data in sync between systems
Items released from A365 Finance and Operations can now be synced back into the Azure-based external item catalog. This ensures updates carry through to microservices like Inventory Visibility or other integrated systems.
Product update: A365 Service
Default warehouse logic for service appointments
To improve consistency in service operations, you can now define default and exempt warehouses at the Workshop level. These defaults are automatically applied to service appointments and item requirements.
The Service Center form now reflects these defaults, helping Service Advisors avoid errors and maintain accurate inventory across appointments.
Product update: A365 Device Management
Adding accessories, components, and devices to fixed assets
This new feature makes it easier to manage fixed assets that come with accessories or attachments (like child devices). It ensures everything is properly tracked and returned to inventory when needed. This helps simplify how rental devices are managed, making inventory control and asset tracking much more efficient.
Ability to manage storage dimensions on devices in Dataverse
You can now define and manage storage dimensions like warehouse or location directly on devices in Dataverse. This gives you better visibility and control over where each device is stored, helping streamline logistics and improve accuracy across your inventory.
Product update: A365 Dealer and Contract Management
Business hierarchy now included in trade-in records
You can now assign Business, Business Facility, and Business Operation fields directly on a trade-in record. This helps tie trade-ins to their operational context and ensures reporting alignment across sales and inventory locations.
New purchase option calculation using prime rate
For leasing contracts, we’ve added support for calculating purchase options based on compounded daily prime rate. This includes:
-
A new “Prime rate group” setting
-
A declining balance grid that replaces the monthly progression
-
Support for deductions and rate changes
You can also define an interest end date or set a credit item, allowing for a customer credit if the final calculation results in a negative value. These updates make leasing more flexible and better aligned with real-world finance models.
