How Ponsse went from data disintegration to real-time visibility

Headquartered in the quaint village of Vieremä, Finland, Ponsse stands as a global leader in cut-to-length forest machines. Founded in 1970 by forest machine entrepreneur Einari Vidgrén, the company has been at the forefront of cut-to-length logging. With customers spanning the Nordics, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas, as well as approximately 30 dealers worldwide, Ponsse is committed to providing superior customer experiences and comprehensive solutions.

In pursuit of its goal to be the premier solution provider, Ponsse sought a system capable of handling processes for external stakeholders, including dealers and customers, through APIs. Furthermore, the company required real-time data extraction to Microsoft Azure Data Platform for reporting, analytics, and applications in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

Choosing A365 complemented by Microsoft Dynamics 365 specifically designed for the manufacturing and distribution industry of vehicles and heavy machinery, Ponsse implemented a robust solution. Today, our comprehensive A365 system manages their material and stock, procurement, sales, deliveries, fieldwork control, maintenance, invoicing, and financial management and reporting. The solution also plays a pivotal role in aftersales processes, encompassing spare parts sales and maintenance.

”We attain better transparency throughout our delivery chain, reducing manual work and utilizing entirely new kinds of data about our operations.”
