June 2026: New features across Sales, Rental, Service, Contracts, and AI

TL;DR

The June 2026 product update of A365 extends AI into warranty claim management and the full rental order lifecycle, gives sales teams more control over confirmed orders and delivery visibility, introduces remanufactured item handling in service, and modernizes how mechanics track their time, with two new AI capabilities now in the platform.

Complex operations across automotive, trucks & buses, and equipment businesses depend on connected data and consistent processes. The June 2026 release tightens those connections across the full value chain, from the first deal touchpoint through to workshop execution and rental return.

DriveAI
AI in this release: two new AI capabilities now in the platform

DriveAI builds on Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and Dataverse, so these capabilities run inside the same Dynamics 365 environment teams already use.

DriveAI

AI actions to create and manage inbound warranty claims

For: Warranty administrators and dealer operations teams

Creating and confirming inbound warranty claims has required direct access to Finance and Operations. AI actions are now available that expose the full warranty claim creation and confirmation workflow, allowing AI agents and external tools to initiate and manage warranty claims using natural language inputs alongside system identifiers, via the Dynamics 365 ERP MCP server.

  • Create inbound warranty claims via AI action
  • Post confirmation for inbound warranty claims via AI action
  • Natural language inputs are supported alongside system identifiers
  • MCP server is compatible for agent-based workflows

Warranty claim creation moves outside F&O, into the tools and agents your teams already use.

DriveAI

AI actions for rental order posting throughout the rental lifecycle

For: Rental operations teams and system integrators

Managing a rental order from confirmation through to return has required manual posting steps inside Finance and Operations at every stage. Seven new AI actions now expose the full rental order posting workflow, allowing agents to drive the rental lifecycle using natural language inputs alongside system identifiers. Rental quotation posting actions have also been updated with more flexible input handling.

  • Post rental confirmation
  • Auto-allocate rental order
  • Post rental delivery request and delivery
  • Post rental collection request and return
  • Search rental orders

The full rental posting lifecycle is now reachable from outside F&O, through the tools and agents your operations teams already use.

Release Highlights
What changed and why it matters

A365 Sales

For: Sales teams and deal managers

Change product dimensions on a confirmed order

Once a quotation is confirmed and converted to a sales order, changing the device configuration has historically meant restarting the deal. A new Update Dimensions action on the Deal Device lets salespersons request dimension changes on confirmed orders, with the system validating the new configuration, updating related order lines, replacing outdated charge lines, and synchronizing changes across Dataverse and F&O. Changes are only permitted when the device, sales line, and purchase line are in valid statuses.

Confirmed orders stay alive when specifications change. No restart required.

A365 Sales

For: Sales teams and deal managers

Invoice journals on deliveries

Invoice journals are now visible directly from Delivery and Delivery Device records. Salespersons can see invoices issued for the overall Deal and, at the Delivery Device level, only the invoices where that specific device was billed, showing invoice number, date, currency, amount, and due date.

Invoice visibility follows the device, all the way through delivery.

A365 Sales

For: Sales teams and deal managers

Customer details directly on the opportunity

Mobile phone and email address from the related Contact are now displayed directly on the Opportunity form. Salespersons can update those details inline, with changes saved back to the Contact record. The displayed information refreshes automatically when the Contact on the Opportunity changes.

The contact is reachable without leaving the opportunity.

A365 Service Center

For: Service advisors and workshop managers

Remanufactured item handling across service processes

Remanufactured items now have full, consistent support across Service Center, Workshop Mechanic, Field Mechanic, and Finance and Operations. When a remanufactured item is added to a job, the system automatically creates and links the related refund and worn return lines. Those companion lines are system-managed and hidden from most user interactions, so advisors and mechanics work with the primary remanufactured item while the system governs the linked records. Remanufactured lines are flagged with a dedicated icon in the WBS, job confirmation is blocked until worn return quantities are recorded, and a summary notification shows returned versus expected quantities during appointment review.

A365 Contracts

For: Contract managers and finance teams

Contract closure updates and re-open functionality

The closure process now evaluates whether lines are fully invoiced before moving them to Closure status, and the contract header recalculates its status based on line statuses, preventing a header from staying in Closure when no remaining invoiceable amounts exist. A new Re-open action lets users reset lines from Closure back to Active when further invoicing is needed or to recover from accidental closure.

Closure means what it should mean. And it can be undone when it should not have happened.

A365 Rental

For: Rental operations managers

Rental orders for sales items only

A new Sales only option in the rental creation dialog allows users to create rental quotations and orders containing only sales items or services, with no rental device line required. An item number can be specified directly during creation to generate the corresponding rental order line.

A365 Field Mechanic

For: Field and workshop mechanics

Clock-in for internal and overhead work

Mechanics can now clock in to internal, non-device activities such as idle time, workshop cleaning, maintenance, and training. Service Managers define overhead activity types per business operation, each linked to a default service order for time registration. Any active timesheet is automatically closed on clock-in, keeping time records accurate across billable and non-billable work.

Non-billable time is now visible, tracked, and consistent with how billable time is recorded.

A365 Rental

For: Rental operations managers and transport coordinators

Decouple rental postings from transport orders

A new Separate rental posting parameter allows the rental delivery posting to be done independently of the transport order, either before or after transport delivery. If the rental posting has already been completed but the delivery subsequently fails, the system notifies the user to take action on the rental order before updating the transport record.

Third-party logistics no longer blocks rental operations from starting.
